The Mission of PAR is to evaluate expressive language skills and provide appropriate training for adults who speak English as a second language to increase proficiency of English language pronunciation and improve communication skills.

Materials

The Compton P-ESL contains a training manual with a comprehensive Accent Reduction Materials Available on CD or Cassetteset of words, sentences and scripts. The materials are available in cassette tape, CD audio and CD-ROM versions. The CD-ROM allows the client to listen to the verbal stimulus, record his/her response, and listen to the response. The procedure may be repeated to the satisfaction of the client.

The Materials include all English consonants and vowels with words and sentences for each of those sounds. During the sessions, the client practices the sound in words, then in sentences to achieve familiarity and proficiency with the sound.
